About the Argonauts

The Argonauts were a bunch of graduate students mostly at the Wolfson Medical Vision Laboratory, Department of Engineering Science, University of Oxford, who meet up every week to learn as much as possible about a specific topic in Science in exactly 120 min. Favoured topics were in Image Processing.

The first meeting took place on 30 Oct 2005. Read more about the Argonauts.

We have a mailing list at googlegroups. Only members who have attended a meeting can subscribe.

The group was disorganized by Ramón Casero until October 2006. Then Niranjan Joshi and Matthias Hofmann had a short lived go.

The Argonauts no longer meet, but this page contains the minutes of past meetings.

What's next?

Nothing in the queue.

We shall know when we arrive. We are already there.

Newsboard

Matthias takes over (14 Jan 2008)

Let's see whether Matthias is luckier organizing meetings this year!

Niranjan takes over (18 Oct 2006)

Niranjan will be in charge of organizing the Argonauts in Michaelmas Term 2006, while Ramón shorts out his funding and gets his thesis work to the next level.

Big changes for the Argonauts (12 Apr 2006)

The Argonauts will undergo big changes next term. Ramón has hinted a change of name to "R-gonauts". Niranjan suggested instead "The R-go-nuts".

Subversion for SOMs (28 Feb 2006)

M. Kadour led the implementation of SOMs and has added it to the subversion repository

$SVNREP/shared/matlab-toolbox/som

Argonauts Wiki (2 Feb 2006)

Jean has kindly helped me loads to create this wiki. Hopefully this will lead to more collaborative work in the Argonauts.

Subversion for Kalman filters (30 Jan 2006)

Code snippets developed in the Kalman Filters (III) meeting are available in the subversion respository (thanks to Jean)

$SVNREP/shared/matlab-toolbox/kalman

For the moment, Ramón and Niranjan have commited 1 file each, with the code all attendees put together in the last meeting.
