Burns dinner

Dinner at NOOC to celebrate Robert Burns‘ birthday (January 25), Scotland’s national poet. We had haggis brought especially from Edinburgh for the occasion, a piper who piped while the haggis was marched in, and a Scotsman who read Burns’ ‘Address to a haggis’ while the haggis was cut up wi’ ready slight, and who told us in no uncertain terms that Scots are not not English.

A notice by the drinks read ‘Scottish dinner contribution £2. Children free’. The haggis looked great, but I had no cash, so I ordered a free child instead.
